Example: An aluminium part has a batch requirement of three hundred part in its infancy the product is designed to be made via the investment casting method. The tooling cost was £1000 and unit cost £12.00.  
Overtime the batch sized increases to 1500 part per month. It is suggested to change the method from investment casting to die cast. The tooling cost is more expensive at £5000 but the unit cost drops to £4.00. The client will see the benefit within two batch cycles. (hypothetical example)
